This year, TV makers are doing their best to give huge-screen
fanatics more breathing room. New “ultrahigh-definition” sets were shown
off Monday by LG Electronics Inc., Sharp Corp., Sony Corp. and Samsung
Electronics Co. at the International CES gadget show in Las Vegas.Here
are some features of some tvs that caught our eye :
Samsung :

- Mastered in 4K

Panasonic :
- Panasonic unveiled a feature called My Home Screen, a new personalized home page feature
- Swipe & Share 2.0
- Viera 2013 HD TV lineup: 16 plasmas, 16 LEDs. From 42 to 65 inches in plasma; 32 to 65 inches in LED.
- NO mention of 4k TVs !
Sharp :
- 90-inch Aquos TV
- there are plenty of choices in the 60-, 70- and 80-inch screen sizes
- ultra-thin bezels and brushed aluminum frames, and the four-color Quattron technology
- SmartCentral smart TV platform, with dual-core processors
LG :
- unveiled the GA7900
- TV works with a Bluetooth remote that has a keyboard on the back
- This is one of seven new Google TVs the company is showing off at CES this year
- 55-inch and 65-inch Ultra HD TVs along with an entry level 55-inch OLED TV.
Vizio :
- Vizio is throwing its hat into the Ultra HD TV arena with 65- and 70-inch sets in its XVT series. The company is also offering a glimpse of its vision of 3D that doesn’t require special glasses.While these were the main TVs that caught the eye , i really don’t know about the practicality of such humungous beauties ! Another major factor will be the the price poing which could go upto as high as 25,000$ ! Only time will tell how these manufacturers fair in the real world.
- The TVs will include HDMI inputs that support native 4K content
- Vizio is also taking the wraps off a new M-series line of 1080p LCD TVs that sport a stylized, ultra-thin industrial design, passive 3D technology, an enhanced smart TV Internet platform, support for Flash and HTML, and larger 70- and 80-inch screen sizes.
