Verizon’s Upcoming Nokia Lumia 928

We’ve known last January that Nokia was working on a version of their successful Lumia 920 that will work on Verizon’s network. Sources who are privy to Nokia’s plans have revealed that there is indeed a smartphone headed to Verizon and this is going to be the Nokia Lumia 928 which was previously known as Laser. This model is a variant of the Nokia Lumia 920 with a couple of changes added.

The Nokia Lumia 928 is reportedly set to be launched on Verizon this coming April. It’s going to feature an
all-aluminum body instead of a polycarbonate one. The use of aluminum material will make the 928 thinner and lighter compared to the 920. It’s also going to feature a Xenon flash and LED light and comes with an 8 megapixel PureView camera. The Xenon flash will make night shots turn out great while the LED light will probably be used for video recordings.

The 928 will have a 4.5 inch display which is the same size as the 920. The difference is that this upcoming model will use an OLED display versus the 920 which uses LCD.  Reports say that this device will have 32 GB of internal storage with no expansion slot. A Verizon employee however leaked that it’s going to have a 16 GB internal memory with a microSD slot capable of supporting up to 64 GB.
The other features such as CPU and RAM will remain the same. It will also come with the standard color options of black, white, red and cyan.
As far as availability goes this device looks to be an exclusive product of Verizon with no plans as of now for it to be launched in other markets. Pricing of this device has not been revealed yet but it will most probably retail for $550 with a subsidized price of $200 on a two year contract.
